Alternative Solutions for Traditional Issues

Serving Central New York

Looking for a natural alternative to pharmaceuticals for mental health or addiction?
If you struggle with addictions, depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, or other emotional issues and want options beyond the side effects or dependency risks of traditional medications, there are new ways forward.

With Brain Science, we go beyond talk therapy to address the biological roots of mental health. Up to 47% of mental health issues may be linked to imbalances in diet, neurotransmitters, and nutrients which are areas that counseling alone can’t correct. Our integrative approach includes neurofeedback, EMDR, detoxification, nutritional medicine, and evidence-based counseling for a complete path to recovery.

I bring mental and physical issues, and holistic care together under one umbrella by partnering with experts across disciplines so you don’t have to search for help on your own.

Therapy for the Mind and Body

In my practice, I have found several modalities helpful in working with emotional health issues.

Nutrition, nutrients and amino acids are essential for providing the basic building blocks for maintaining body and brain health.

Neurofeedback, Light Therapy and EMDR can stimulate neural networks and help the brain regulate and heal itself.

Light Therapy (PBM) and PEMF can reach deep into tissues to bring about healing on the cellular level and uses light and frequencies to address issues caused by the unseen entities such as parasites, pathogens, bacteria and viruses by destroying them without harming healthy cells.

Motivational Interviewing and CBT are counseling strategies used for continued stabilization and continued growth. Clients are in charge of their care and I endeavor to have a collaborative concerning goals and continued care.

The IDC Method

Searching for the Missing Piece? Been there and done that?

Identify

You don’t drop your car at a mechanic and just say, “Fix it.” Yet that’s often how we approach emotional or mental health issues. To get real results, we need to identify what’s wrong, whether it’s lack of sleep, poor focus, or IBS. Inventories and questionnaires help pinpoint these symptoms so you can get the right kind of help.

Diagnose

Symptoms are the signals our bodies are always sending to indicate there’s a problem. Mental health should be treated like any other medical condition. We can explore lab testing to rule out deficiencies or physical causes, and consult with the right specialists when needed.

Correct

We build a treatment plan that addresses the root cause, not just the symptom. Optimal health requires change, often through lifestyle adjustments rather than a quick fix. Lasting progress happens on the physical, psychological, and spiritual levels, and a comprehensive plan includes them all.

Philosophy of Care

I desire to provide personally tailored services to individuals with both mental health and/or physiological issues, using cutting edge science along with time tested counseling techniques such as CBT and Motivational Interviewing. I incorporate a spiritual ethic that treats clients with dignity and values them as unique individuals with value and worth. I endeavor to provide my clients with information to empower them to care for themselves and I collaborate with providers who share my vision of client care for services outside of my scope of practice.
