Who I thought I’d become….
My Story
I began in addictions/mental health in 1987. As I practiced, I began to observe and understand that the issues we struggle with are complex. I started with leaving mainstream therapies in 2000. I was trained in EMDR which helped. I incorporated neurofeedback in 2010 and began to include biofeedback, PBM (Photo biomodulation) and FSM (frequency specific modulation). I included Light Therapy (Firefly Light Therapy) in 2024 which is another variation of PBM to address biological impediments such as gut issues, parasites/pathogens and bacterial/viral infections which can affect physical and mental health. Light therapy has impacted issues such as Dementia, Diabetic neuropathy, MS and neuropathy in general, Chronic pain like sciatica, tinnitus, IBS, Fibromyalgia, Lyme and a variety of other issues impacted by the use of frequency and light. I am currently working on including PEMF as well. I endeavor to gather the tools necessary to offer the best therapies to address the goal of achieving optimal health and partner with others dedicated toward the same goal. I have worked to reduce my office space to make recovering health the least costly expense I can. Neurofeedback has been used to treat ADHD, anxiety and depression, panic disorders, trauma, TBI, headaches, IBS and anything requiring the brain and body to balance. That is the beauty of ISF neurofeedback.
How long are the sessions?
A typical session for neurofeedback is 50 minutes; light therapy is 20 minutes. Usually if therapies are combined it will be around an hour.
How long till I see results?
Although reasonable, this question is tough to answer. A lot depends on how critical things are before coming to me. Often clients will come after having tried everything else. Chronic conditions which are existing for more than six months take longer and are affected by many factors such as medications used, surgeries done or extent of damage. I have seen immediate results on acute injuries treated with the light but that is not always the case. With neurofeedback, it is usually slower and within 10-15 sessions, most experience changes. With serious or chronic conditions, it can take hundreds of sessions as in the case of autism.
What is this going to cost me?
I start by taking an inventory. This may encompass several sessions and in the case of light therapy will also include a treatment. The cost is $150.
If we are doing neurofeedback then a Qeeg (brainmap) is done and that costs $300.
All subsequent sessions are billed at $65 per session. I can at times use two different modalities within a session. I do use CBT or Motivational Interviewing as issues arise that need to be processed. Although I do not take or bill insurance, I can provide an invoice for you to send to insurance if your diagnosis is covered.
